Yesterday was our school's public concert. We performed 3 pieces. Symphonic Episode 1, Ride and Disco Party 3. I'm proud to say all of us worked hard for it. Which makes this performance a success no matter how much we screwed it up. (: Hua Yi Band members, once again, I'm proud of you. Continue to rock on.
When the curtain opens, I hear the thunderous clappings and the roars of cheers. This really motivates me to become a music performer. Although I can't see the audience there because the hall is dark, although I know some of the audience don't come to the concert just for band, although I know some of the audience don't appreciate music, the claps and cheers really was appreciated. The quietness when we were playing was also appreciated. (:
Symphonic Episode 1 is a slow nice song. I hope not many of the audience fell asleep while listening to it because our next piece is Ride. LOL Disco party 3 hyped up the audience thanks to Chao Xiang's "I Can't give you anything but my love" solo. hahas. Great job to all soloists! not only for this song but for the 2 other songs! :D You guys had practiced hard. (:
The audience clapped and cheered once again when we finished performing. The curtain closed and band's performance is over. We head back to our dressing room and packed up our instruments. This is the time when I truly felt the closeness of the band. The whole band was taking pictures, cheering and playing together. I was touched by this moment. I've always thought Hua Yi Concert Band is not at all bonded. But yesterday proved my wrong.
The finale made me more certain that HYCB is bonded. We did our HYCB wave at the back of the stage while the hip hop is pathetically dancing at the front, stealing the spot light. When we were singing the school song, HYCB members sang the loudest. We even waved our hands when we sang. HAHAS!
The concert is finally over. HYCB proceed back to our dressing room to get our instruments and stands to the lorry. And we went back to school.
Everyone was exhausted by then. Some went back home, some went for dinner, then went back home.
HYCB, I'm proud of you, and you'll be in my heart after I graduate. Now, SYF'11 is only 30+ days away. Let's us all work hard and strive for a gold after getting 10 years of silver. We'll make Mr Tan proud, make the school regret looking down on us, let other school bands look up to us. (: Let us all make each other proud once again. (:
